How ShopDhoom Works
Last updated: August 2026
ShopDhoom is a marketplace of independent stores. Sellers build and run their store by chatting with an AI assistant — no coding, no design work, no dashboards to learn. Buyers shop across every store on the marketplace from one place. Here’s how it all works, end to end.
For Sellers
1. Create your store by chatting
Tell the AI assistant what you’d like to sell and what to name your store. It checks the name is available, suggests categories and product types based on what you’re selling, and creates your store — complete with a first batch of products — right there in the conversation. Your store is live within minutes.
Already have a product list in a spreadsheet? Use CSV → ShopDhoom in the sidebar instead to create your store with up to 200 products at once, or migrate an existing WooCommerce or Shopify store directly.
- Up to 2 stores per account.
- A new store started by chatting with the AI begins with up to 3 categories, 3 product types, and 6 products — you can add more of each anytime afterward. Starting from a CSV lifts that initial cap to 200 products.
2. Add and manage products
Ask the assistant to add, edit, or remove products, or use the Product Manager for direct control — set the name, price, images, sizes, and shipping details (weight and dimensions, which the courier pricing is based on). You can either upload your own product photos or let the AI generate one for you.
Removing a product is a soft delete — it disappears from your storefront but stays in your history, so you can always bring it back.
3. Set up shipping
Add your pickup address once in the Store Manager (locked after the first save, since couriers register against it — only your GSTIN stays editable after that). From then on, ShopDhoom automatically finds the cheapest courier for every order based on your product’s weight/dimensions and the buyer’s delivery address — you don’t negotiate rates or book couriers yourself.
4. Go live: checkout approval
A new store is visible to buyers right away, but checkout stays off until ShopDhoom reviews your store and approves it. Once approved, flip the Checkout toggle in your Store Manager to start accepting real orders.
5. Publish your changes
Editing a product or your store settings saves instantly — you’ll see it reflected right away in your manager. Your public storefront, however, only updates when you tap Deploy changes, so you can make several edits and publish them together. (Deploy is limited to roughly once every few minutes to keep things fast for everyone.)
6. Fulfil orders
When a buyer pays, you get notified instantly by WhatsApp and email. Manage the order from the Order Manager: confirm packaging details, print the shipping label/manifest/invoice, and hand it to the courier for pickup. You can cancel an order or its shipment before it ships, and process return requests, all from the same place.
7. Get paid, and what it costs
- No setup fee. No monthly fee.
- ShopDhoom charges a small flat platform fee per product, only when it actually sells — unsold listings are never charged.
- Payments are collected through Razorpay and settled to your bank account; ShopDhoom never sees or stores your customers’ card/UPI details.
- Shipping is charged to the buyer separately at checkout, based on the real courier cost — you price your products on margin, not shipping.
8. Optional: discounts you control
You can turn on a per-category add-on discount (Store Manager → General): the 2nd unit onward from the same category gets a percentage off that you set, per category. It’s off by default and fully seller-funded — you choose if and how much.
For Buyers
Browsing and buying
Browse any store on the marketplace, add items to your cart, and check out — no account needed to browse, sign-in only happens at checkout. Payments are handled securely through Razorpay.
Free delivery
Each store sets its own free-delivery threshold — by default, shipping is waived once your order from that store reaches ₹999, though some sellers set a lower threshold or offer a discount code at checkout. Check the store or your cart for the exact terms. ShopDhoom covers this cost — it’s never taken out of what the seller earns.
Shipping and tracking
Before you check out, you’ll be asked to confirm your delivery pincode — this lets us show you a real shipping estimate up front and confirm the store can actually deliver to you before you fill in the rest of your address. Shipping itself is calculated live at checkout based on your full delivery address and handled by our courier partner, Shiprocket. You’ll get order and shipping updates by email, and can message the seller directly on WhatsApp from your order for support after you’ve bought something.
Exchanges, returns, and cancellations
You can cancel an order before it ships. We don’t accept returns as a general rule — we exchange instead. If something isn’t right with an order, contact us and we’ll make it right with a replacement, at no cost to you (the ShopDhoom Guarantee). A few products are marked as returnable: where a seller has explicitly turned returns on for an item, its page shows a “Returns accepted” note and you have 3 days from delivery to request one. See our Terms of Service for details.
Have more questions?
You can always ask the AI assistant directly from your Seller Studio — it can answer most “how does X work” questions on the spot. For anything else, see our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or Contact Us.
